Getting married on our island is really quite simple. Here are the three easy steps needed to meet Bermuda’s wedding requirements.
STEP 1 – Complete a Notice of Intended MarriageDownload a “Notice of Intended Marriage” form or request one from the Bermuda Registrar General’s office (+1 441 297 7709 or +1 441 297 7707) or the Bermuda Department of Tourism office nearest you. If you download the form, please be aware that it must be printed on white legal size (8.5" x 14") paper to be accepted. Fill out the form and mail it back to the Registrar General along with a cashier’s cheque or bank draft made payable to the Accountant General, Hamilton, Bermuda, in the amount of BM$243 (includes certificate). Copies of final divorce decrees or death certificates, if applicable, must also be included. Address your application to: Registrar General This submitted notice will result in a wedding license valid for three months. You or a designated person may pick up this license at the Registrar office. STEP 2 – Choose a wedding locationYour many options fall into two categories:
STEP 3 – Ensure you have two witnessesThe witnesses must be over 18 years of age and must be present at the ceremony. The Registrar will happily supply witnesses but Monday to Friday only. |
